Higher education has some difficult decisions ahead.

If you work in higher education right now, it can feel like everything is urgent.
Budgets are tighter. Cybersecurity risks keep growing. AI is moving faster than most institutions can comfortably absorb.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that, leaders are still expected to innovate, support students, keep systems running, and make good decisions.
I have lived through it and interestingly connects to SCARE.
There is a lot of Stress in the system right now.
There is Chaos too, especially when years of adding platforms, applications, licenses, and now AI tools start catching up with us.
Then comes the Anxiety.
Are we moving too fast?
Too slowly?
Are we secure enough?
Are we spending money in the right places?
Resistance to Change shows up when old processes and old investments become difficult to question.
And yes, sometimes Ego gets in the way too. We all become attached to the systems, budgets, decisions, and ways of working we know.
